Why the name? In 1926 craftsman Charles Doppelt (hence “Dopp”) designed the first mens amenities bag. The cases were distributed by the U.S. military for soldiers to carry with their gear, the original leather dopp kit survived two world wars.
Today, stylish dopp kits are a travel essential and come in waxed canvas, leather, PU, nylons and neoprene variations with single or double zip compartments. Water-resistant lining is also a good feature to protect the case from leaks with long zip pulls and a side gusset carry handle.
When designing a Dopp kit you need to think about not taking up too much space in suitcases and overnight bags whilst still allowing enough room to hold all toiletry travel essentials. The Sauce suggests dimensions around 5.8” (H) x 9.1” (W) x 3.9” (D), 4L.
